Employsure’s growth trajectory continues. It has just won a Growth Company of the Year Award in the business services category – third year in a row! Two years ago it had 7,000 clients and now more than 13,000. Clients pay monthly subscriptions to receive documentation, advice and even legal representation for employment relations and work health and safety.

So many law firms have tried and failed to offer subscription services to clients. Employsure seems to have found a winning formula. In fact, Employsure is not a law firm, although there are lawyers working inside the company. When a client needs legal representation, Employsure calls on Sparke Helmore, its legal services partner. Such representation is sold as part of the subscription package. No doubt, Sparke Helmore has benefited from Employsure’s growth.

LegalVision is positioning itself as a new competitor in the field having recently acquired Cooee’s employment subscription service.

LegalVision announced that it aims to leverage its existing expertise as a legal services innovator to develop a market-changing model for subscription-based legal services. With the acquisition, the firm has launched a new employment relations advisory service to offer on-demand employment law services to startups, SMEs and corporate clients. The subscription service provides legal advice and documents to support employers at a fraction of the cost of traditional legal providers.

“There is a clear and tested market for employment law subscription services”, said Lachlan McKnight, CEO of LegalVision. “This acquisition offers the perfect opportunity for us to show how a law firm can deliver quality legal services on a subscription model. We have already started planning how to roll out the model to cover other key areas of corporate and commercial law”.

The Growth Company Awards are co-sponsored by K&L Gates, GlobalX, Intralinks, Macquarie Capital, Deloitte, 2020 Exchange and the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCAL). GlobalX CEO Peter Maloney said: “GlobalX has enjoyed our time as co-sponsors of the Australian Growth Company Awards and sees them as a great opportunity to celebrate hard-working, driven, and innovative Australian companies.”
