Melbourne-based team ANIKA Legal is one of only 14 teams that will compete in the final round of the Global Legal Hackathon in New York next month. Multiple teams in each of 40 cities across the world started in round one. One team in each of those cities made it to the second round and now the competition judges have selected 14 finalists.

ANIKA is a solution designed to improve access to justice and provide practical legal training to law students. ANIKA will connect clients seeking legal advice with law students, who will work with ANIKA’s artificial intelligence and human supervising lawyers to provide free, high-quality legal advice.

The team reacted to the news of entering the final round: “The ANIKA team are so overwhelmingly proud to announce that, thanks to your support, we have been selected to go to NYC to pitch our solution to a global panel of expert judges!! We are so happy!! We cannot wait to continue building & developing our project further – for the greater good! #GLH2018 #A2J”
