The Global Legal Blockchain Consortium (GLBC) was announced on August 15, 2017 during the International Legal Technology Association annual convention. Now approaching its one year anniversary, the GLBC is the largest blockchain consortium in the world focused exclusively on the application of blockchain technology to the business of law.

On August 19th of this year, again alongside the ILTA annual convention, the 50+ companies, law firms, software companies, and universities that are the founding members of the GLBC are holding the first annual meeting of the organization. There will be committee meetings, technology demos, major announcements by members, and the public launch of a significant new company.

Some of the most recent organisations to join GLBC are Association of Legal Administrators, Digitory Legal from the USA, tech & law from Israel, and Feynbrook from Australia.

The Global Legal Blockchain Consortium is a global network of key stakeholders in the legal industry, working toward the standardization, governance, and application of blockchain and related technologies in global legal systems.

The mission of the Global Legal Blockchain Consortium is to enhance the security, privacy, productivity, and interoperability of the legal technology ecosystem.
