Zaliet announced the release of Service Portals, exclusively developed to help law firms better serve the needs of clients. Inspired by feedback from Zaliet’s law firm website clients, the Service Portal allows consumers to book appointments, view and comment on documents, and pay bills, online and at a time that suits them best.

Reduce time on non-chargeable work
“We’re excited to build on our reputation for innovation with our Service Portals,” said Zaliet CEO Rachel Williams. “So many of our law firm clients had spoken to us about what frustrated them most at work. It wasn’t the law – it was all the expensive, non-billable work around the law. It was playing phone tag with clients to setup an appointment. It was chasing invoices because clients couldn’t pay by credit card or enter payment plans. It was their fears around sending confidential documents by email, which they know is vulnerable to hacking, and the delays and inaccuracies they encounter by being unable to securely edit documents online.”
Through its partnerships with other legal technology ventures like LawConnect, RapidPay, LawTap, and LEAP, Zaliet was able to bring all these features into one service.
“To implement these systems would cost a firm thousands of dollars to design and build,” said Williams. “Essentially, you would need a team of developers to build the product, test it and ensure it is compliant. Zaliet have the developers, the time, and the resources to develop these kind of services.”
All Service Portal features are included in a custom email signature provided by Zaliet to law firms.
“This allows clients to book appointments, pay bills and access their documents from any email sent by their lawyer, which lawyers tell us they’re already finding useful,” said Williams.
The Service Portal Dashboard automatically captures enquiries made through the Service Portal and displays them in order of time, date, and source. Through Zaliet’s integration with legal practice management software provider LEAP, Dashboard enquiries can appear in LEAP once a lawyer is ready to take on a matter.
“Our Service Portals allow clients to access what they need without having to call their lawyer or wait until the office is open. We have taken what clients normally call their lawyers about – booking appointments, paying bills, accessing documents – and put it in one online portal.
