MinuteDock software is developed in Wellington, New Zealand by a young, creative team that has a mix of skills in programming and design. 

The software was released to the market in October 2009. From the outset, MinuteDock was able to be integrated with Xero accounting software. Xero is also a New Zealand headquartered company that markets its cloud-based software internationally.


MinuteDock’s Nik Wakelin commented “we’re really excited about what Xero is doing and are big fans”. 

MinuteDock is already being used by lawyers and the development team has plans to make it even more customised for the legal profession. 

The software is not merely a copycat of older time tracking systems. The method of data entry is surprisingly flexible and uncomplicated.

If you have had exposure to Twitter then getting used to MinuteDock will be even quicker. Contacts are tagged with the @ code and tasks with the # symbol.  

You can do time entries inside Twitter by recording an entry as a Direct Message. If you use Twitter on your smartphone you have an instant mobile application.  A more ‘traditional’ mobile interface/iPhone App is currently under development.
